Privacy Policy

This policy covers ScarmVoice — the iOS app, the Windows app, and the message board at scarmonit.com/messageboard. They are three front ends for one small, password-protected chat room. The same rules apply to all of them.

ScarmVoice is run by one person as a private project. There are no ads, no analytics SDKs, no trackers, and nothing is ever sold or shared with advertisers or data brokers.

What is collected

• The display name you choose. You pick it yourself; it does not have to be your real name.
• Messages and files you send. Stored so the room has history. Everyone with the room password can read them.
• A random device ID. Generated on your device to mark which messages are yours. It is not linked to your identity, your Apple ID, or your phone number.
• Your IP address, briefly. Used only to rate-limit failed password attempts so the room cannot be brute-forced.
• Basic error and usage counts. Aggregate numbers used to spot outages. They contain no message content.

What is not collected

• Voice chat is never recorded. Audio is relayed live between participants and is not written to disk or stored anywhere.
• No contacts, photo library, or location access. The app asks for the microphone (for voice) and, only if you attach one, a photo or file you pick yourself.
• No account is created. There is no email, phone number, or password of your own — the room shares a single password.

Where it is stored

On Cloudflare infrastructure (D1 for messages, R2 for attachments), reachable only through the password-protected site. Voice runs over Cloudflare Realtime. Connections use HTTPS.

How long it is kept

Messages and attachments stay until they are deleted. You can delete your own messages from any of the three clients, which removes them for everyone. Rate-limiting records are discarded automatically within a day.

Deleting your data

Delete individual messages yourself with the delete action on any message you sent. To have everything you have posted removed, email park3rdunned@gmail.com from any address and say which display name was yours — it will be removed, normally within a few days.

Objectionable content and abuse

ScarmVoice has zero tolerance for abusive or objectionable content. Every message can be reported from inside the app, and you can block another user so you no longer see anything they post. Reports are reviewed and offending content and users are removed, normally within 24 hours. See Support to report something or to reach a human.

Children

ScarmVoice is not directed at children under 13 and is not intended for them. It is a private room you can only enter with a password shared by its owner.

Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. Material changes will be posted in the room itself.
